Has there ever been a pirate claiming that they found the One Piece and they were now the new King of Pirates, even if it was a lie, just to trick people?

Mmm.. I don't think so... he did travel on a ship-- but he wasn't a Captain, and I think probably mostly why he was like that, is because he was just an evil scumbag and the one he served under at the time wanted to eradicate all humans so only robots remained.
[ Until he didn't want that anymore anyway, because ..AI shenanigans and .. yeah. Her canon is kind of a mess, sadly. ]
