[Luffy grins mischievously.] I don't really do slow. [Sanji's instincts are very correct. Luckily for everyone's sake (but mostly Zoro's), alcohol isn't included in his usual desire to consume anything vaguely edible in his vicinity, and it probably won't become so no matter how delicious Sanji can make his drinks. Luffy has simply never needed liquid courage, and he's basically inhibition-free while even while stone cold sober.

But god help everyone if he ever gets his hands on something that'll get him high. Luffy with the munchies would be devastating to local ecosystems.] I can tell Nami! These watch things are so cool. Like snails, but I can see you! [He waves at the watch's little camera with his free hand, grinning like a dork, then flops back onto his extremely temporary bed. His straw hat rolls off his head with a little crunch, and he glances up at it before focusing back on his screen. Oops!

Since Sanji hasn't hung up on him, Luffy's going to keep talking while he works, because it's nice to hear the sound of Sanji's voice.] Oh, they gave me a basket of fruit! Should I bring it? [The other option is eating it right now while he waits, because Sanji would never waste food (for trauma reasons), but Luffy never would either (for gluttony reasons.)]

Should’ve known you’d say that. [ Sanji laughs softly, shaking his head as he puts the finishing touch on Nami’s drink— a lime wheel for garnish— and quickly cleans up the bar area. It’s just a good practice to keep everything neat and tidy, particularly here, where it’s very easy to get distracted. He grins at Luffy, though, big and bright as he starts to walk out from behind the bar and deeper into the suite. ] I’m only gonna make you one then. For now. We’ll see about next time, yeah?

[ The thought of Luffy drunk is both deeply amusing and potentially distressing. Sanji’s seen enough people drink too much to know that sometimes, even the happiest person can be an angry, violent drunk. And he doesn’t want any of them to deal with the consequences of Luffy’s strength putting hole after hole through the walls. ] Yeah. And they can do a lot more, too. There’s this thing where you can find out more information about what people like. I’ll show you how to use it sometime. [ It’s part of how he found out Nami was here when he first arrived.

He’s still walking through the hallways when Luffy brings up the fruit basket. Sanji thinks for a second, lips pressed into a thoughtful frown, and nods. ] Yeah. Bring it with you. Not sure I’d trust it, but— no point in wasting food. [ You really never know whether anything the resort provides is safe, but if the pieces of fruit just have an aphrodisiac in them, that could be enjoyable under controlled circumstances. And that makes him think to add one last thing. ] No snacking on a piece just yet, yeah? I’m gonna cook you and Nami up a nice dinner soon.

[He laughs when Sanji laughs, delighted by the sound. He's even more delighted when he sees that Sanji starts walking, which means that food is closer now than it was a few moments ago, though he gives up quickly on understanding the layout of Nami's room based on the moving video because it's not making a lot of sense. He'll just have to see it when he sees it.] Okay, one drink for now. [If there's one thing he doesn't doubt, it's that Sanji will give him more stuff later if he still wants it, because Sanji always does whatever he can to give everyone on the crew stuff that they'll like.

Luffy has a lot of favorite things about Sanji, but that's definitely one of them.] What do you like to drink? Beer, like Zoro? [He'd name Usopp's drink from the Baratie instead, because he's certain Sanji would prefer to be compared to Usopp than to Zoro, but when their sniper had talked about it after the fact he'd looked so green that Luffy can't actually tell if he liked it or not.

Something about it giving him can't-survive-loud-noises-or-bright-lights-right-now disease, Luffy thinks.] Yeah, I want to see that! Do you think there's anyone else who likes pirates here? Other than you. And Nami. And Shanks. And Boggy, I guess. [Someday, he will get that poor clown's name right. Maybe.

Either way, that warning definitely catches him reaching out over the side of his bed, about to pluck a piece out of the basket and eat it, and Luffy makes a sheepish face before dropping his free hand back over his belly.] Why can't you trust fruit? [Apparently, Luffy has not learned to be more wary about anything handed to him by the resort yet, despite the time he has spent here so far. Good thing he's got Sanji and Nami around.]

[ Walking through the hallways of Nami's suite is essentially second nature to Sanji now— he knows the place (or, at least the important parts) like the back of his hand, even factoring in the size— so it isn't particularly difficult for him to navigate even while chatting away with Luffy non-stop. Laughing, he shakes his head vehemently at his question. ]

Nah, my taste's are nothing like that mosshead's. Mostly, I like— one moment, I'm almost to Nami. [ A few seconds pass before he stops off to drop Nami's drink and announces that he'll be back with Luffy in tow shortly. As tempted as he is to properly kiss her before he leaves, he keeps it to a brief brush of his lips against hers— which, along with the drink dropoff, isn't really in frame due to the angle of his wrist. But he's back on camera before too long, grinning at Luffy as he heads towards the hidden passage that leads to Red Cardinal. He's missed him and his cheerful, optimistic way of seeing the world so much over the past few months. ] Sorry. Uh, mostly I like wine. And there's more than a few cocktails I enjoy. Brandy and whiskey aren't bad on their own, either.

[ That's maybe more information that Luffy actually needed, but he asked, so Sanji answers. And then laughs at his question about pirates. ] Yeah, there's loads of people here that like pirates. Nami's made a bunch of friends since she's been here so long. And I've made a few myself. You got to see Shanks already, I take it?

[ Now that he doesn't have a drink in hand to worry about sloshing and spilling, he's walking through the rest of the suite at a faster clip— not running, but definitely power walking— the need of which is made all the more apparent when Luffy nearly eats a piece of fruit. ] They like to put shit in the food to make it easier to play their stupid game. If you're lucky, it'll just make you hungry for sex. If you aren't— there's all kinds of crap that can happen. Lots of the places here sell food like that. We'll show some safe places for when you're out and too hungry to come back up and wait for me to cook. [ As much as Sanji wants to be the one to prepare everything his crewmates eat by ]
